Having an interest in music and bands since an early age, and spending teenage years growing up through the Brit pop band 90s. Alex bought a guitar around this time, which laid dormant for a few years when he joined the Armed forces in 2006. Whilst on a tour in Afghanistan Alex met his future wife Lisa on a social network site. Lisa was also a lover of music, having grown up around her father and uncles playing. After waiting for three months to meet each other, Alex returned from Afghanistan, and they married a year later. Soon after Alex was voluntarily discharged from the forces.

With the encouragement from Lisa, Alex began to pursue his interest in music. If was suggested by Alex's father-in-law (already forming the band Cream Crackered) that they form a band. And so the foundations were laid for Shadey Scandals. 

Since forming Shadey Scandals Alex has had affiliations with other bands formed to suit events, such as Shades of Ray and Cream Crackered, solo projects and more.

Alex and Lisa have had affiliations with the military charity SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airman and Families Association) and have often acted as ambassadors for the charity having appeared several times in news and media on their behalf, also being involved in fundraising, such as two SSAFA Bandfest in 2014 and again in 2015.

2015 brought Alex and Lisa the birth of Their beautiful daughter Katie-Juliet, and since then Alex has continued writing music, performing and producing music for release and radio play receiving accolades along the way from industry professionals.
